Finding Work Abroad for Nurses
Ang OFW Ngayon is launching the first edition of Finding Work Abroad for Nurses in November 2008.
The guidebook focuses on the needs of the growing number of Filipino nurses who want to work overseas. In particular, the Step-by-step guide for nurses seeks to provide up-to-date and relevant information on countries that have a high demand for nurses, including the application process, job requirements and terms of employment. The book also gives tips on nursing schools and finding job leads, discusses the dangers presented by illegal recruitment, and provides financial management advice. In addition, it shares the experiences of overseas Filipino nurses–their success stories and the lessons they have learned.
We expect the step-by-step guide for nurses to also become a bestseller like its predecessor.
How to Save: A savings and investment guide for OFWs
How to Save is a glossy magazine that we launched in 2007 as a companion publication of Ang OFW Ngayon.
The primary objective of How to Save is to help our readers, overseas Filipino workers and their families, to spend and invest their money wisely. Sadly, the billions of dollars sent by OFWs to their families in the Philippines usually end up in consumption rather than in savings and investments. That is why many OFWs retire with little or no savings.
The theme for the August 2008 issue is “Best Deals of 2008.”
Welcome Home, Kabayan!
Welcome Home, Kabayan! is a directory of products and services for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
The directory identifies places OFWs may want to visit during the Christmas holidays, and the goods and services they may buy for their friends and family.
Copies of Welcome Home, Kabayan! are given to OFWs and balikbayans for free at airport arrival areas, piers, duty free shops, major shopping malls and department stores beginning the first week of December.
