Filipinos warned not to bring bullets to Singapore

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore advises all Filipinos traveling to Singapore not to bring live or blank bullets, according to Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) news.
Penalties for travelers who bring these prohibited items include imprisonment for five years to 10 years, plus caning of at least six strokes.
The list of prohibited items in the Singapore Police Force website include the following:
- Firearms/Parts of Firearms including magazines
- Live Bullet/Blank–small calibre for revolver, pistol or rifle
- Live Bullet/Blank–other than small caliber
- Air Pistol/Rifle or parts of Air Pistol/Rifle
- Airsoft Guns/BB Guns
- Spear Gun/Cross bow
- Explosive/Blasting cap/Dynamite/Detonators/Det-Cords
- Fireworks/crackers
- Spent/empty cartridges, bullets rendered “safe”
- Signal Flares
- Tear-Gas Spray/Pepper spray
- Walking Stick with Dagger
- Industrial Acid/Corrosive Substance
- Flick knives, gravity knives
- Whips made from bicycle or motorcycle chains
- Nanchaku
- Knuckle Duster
- Ninja star/Throwing knives
- Stun Guns/Taser Guns
- Toy guns which resemble real guns
- Bullet proof vest
- Baton/T-baton
- Night Stick/Truncheon
- Handcuffs
- Replica, dummy and model explosives
- Cornershot devices
- Lighters shaped like grenade, bullets and firearm
There have been more cases of Filipinos who are arrested for possession of bullets, including those used as talisman or amulet. Most of them are tourists from Changi Airport who were eventually released with warnings.
