27 kiosks now serve OFWs in POEA main office
December 11, 2011 by Divina
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) opened 10 more kiosks at its main office in Mandaluyong City, making available a total of 27 kiosks where overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) can have their overseas employment certificates (OECs) processed.
According to Philippine Daily Inquirer news, this measure was done to accommodate about 90,000 OFWs who are expected to come home for the holidays and will need to have their OECs processed so airport authorities could allow them to return to work abroad.
The POEA kiosks open at 7 am and will close only after OFWs who have come for the day are served. The government agency will be closed on December 25 (Christmas), 30 (Rizal Day) and 31 (special nonworking holiday).
