The MV Pacific Express was attacked by armed pirates approximately 180 nautical miles east-southeast of Mombasa, Kenya, prompting the vessel’s captain to send a distress call, which alerted the navy vessel Andreadoria to come to their rescue. Read more

Yemen PH to intensify repatriation efforts in YemenThe Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said last weekend that it will intensify efforts to bring home Filipinos in Yemen due to the possible worsening of the political-security situation in the capital city of Sanaa.

According to a DFA press release, a total of 282 Filipinos have been repatriated from Yemen since Alert Level 3, or voluntary repatriation on government’s expense, was raised on May 24 in all areas of Yemen. Alert Level 4, or mandatory evacuation, was eventually raised in Sanaa on June 6. Read more
