Manila Chamber Singers win grand prix in Turkey

The Manila Chamber Singers (MCS) won the Grand Prix in all choir categories and First Prize in the mixed choral category at the Antalya International Choral Festival held in the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya, Turkey last April 14-17.
Philippine Ambassador Pedro O Chan accompanied the choral group to Antalya to provide moral support throughout the competition, according to Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) news. Read more

The second batch of 50 Filipinos from Fukushima were repatriated Wednesday afternoon, according to a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) news release.
The Philippine Government has offered to repatriate Filipinos living within the 100-kilometer radius of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant in northeastern Japan. Read more

DFA announces mobile passport services in Luzon from April-June
The Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs announced its Mobile Passport Services (MPS) schedule in Luzon from April-June 2011.
April: Consular teams will be in Tanay, Rizal and Gen Mariano Alvarez, Cavite on April 16. The team will also visit Angono, Rizal and Obando, Bulacan on April 30. Read more

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is distributing Phil-JobNet cards for free to job seekers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who will pre-register with Phil-JobNet for the Jobs and Livelihood Fair at the Rizal Park in Manila on May 1, 2011.
“The Phil-JobNet card will serve as a digital resume containing a job seeker’s profile,” said Labor chief Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz, according to a DOLE news release. Read more
