The United Kingdom (UK) stopped accepting Tier 1 (General) applications made overseas starting 12:01 am on December 23, 2010, according to an announcement from UK Immigration Minister Damian Green.

The UK Border Agency (UKBA) said in a news report that the changes were necessary to ensure that they “do not exceed the limit set by the government for issued Tier 1 (General) applications between July 19, 2010 and April 2011.” Read more

healthcare PH Swiss group to promote exchange of professional, tech traineesA Philippine-Swiss Joint Working Group (JWG) was convened at the Swiss Federal Office of Migration (FOM) to draw up a plan to promote and maximize the Philippine-Swiss Agreement on the exchange of trainees.

According to Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) news, the agreement signed in 2002 provides for the deployment of 50 trainees, including nurses, per country per year. Read more
