Labor Secretary Marianito D Roque called on overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families to contact the government for help in all cases of abuse that OFWs may encounter in the hands of their overseas employers.

Roque made the appeal as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) investigates a report alleging that some Filipino household service workers (HSWs) have been maltreated by their employers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Read more

Internal control policies implemented by the board of trustees and the pre-audit procedures of the Commission on Audit (COA) ensure that the trust fund of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will only be used to benefit its members, said OWWA Administrator Carmelita S Dimzon.
