President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is scheduled to arrive in Manila this week with 120 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were charged as illegal migrants and then released by the Saudi Arabian government.
The President, who is returning home after visiting Turkey, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), also expressed hopes that other OFWs will be repatriated after their problems are resolved. Read more

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said nursing board examinations will be held in the last week of November in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
According to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), Arroyo told Philippine Ambassador Antonio Villamor on Tuesday to draft an executive order for the holding of yearly board examinations for nurses in KSA. Read more

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo instructed the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to conduct yearly international licensure examinations for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
According to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS), Arroyo wants the exams to be held on a regular basis even beyond her term. Read more

Japanese Ambassador Makoto Katsura led the Send-Off Ceremony for about 30 Filipino Candidate Caregivers bound for caregiver schools in Japan last Friday at the HEDC Building in the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman.

Overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Natividad Dela Cruz is the first Filipino to be named “Caregiver of the Year” by the United Kingdom’s (UK) Amazing Awards.
