Philhealth to offer services in HK

A Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) official will provide services to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Hong Kong (HK) for two weeks every quarter starting this August.
The PhilHealth’s regular representative mission will spearhead information assistance, benefits availment and membership registration services for the first time from August 3 to16. Read more

A Singaporean tanker and its four-man crew, including two Filipino seafarers, were released by Nigerian militants on July 22.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Singapore flag chemical tanker MT Sichem Peace was released at 2 am (Manila time), two weeks after it was seized by Nigerian armed militants. Read more
First batch of Filipino nurses arrive in Basque Country

A group of 27 Filipino nurses, the first to be deployed in Northern Spain, arrived in Bilbao last week.
Fifteen of the nurses came from the province of Nueva Vizcaya, while 12 are from other provinces, said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Read more

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has confirmed the identities of the 10 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) killed in the helicopter crash in Kandahar in Southern Afghanistan on July 19.
The Filipinos worked in Afghanistan in spite of the government’s deployment ban for OFWs in the war-torn country, which took effect in 2007. Read more

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Regional Consular Office (RCO) in Baguio City started offering consular services including passport processing and issuance, authentication services, and visa processing on July 20.
