The Bahjin family from Region 9 and Del Prado family from the National Capital Region (Metro Manila) were proclaimed as the grand winners of the 2008 Model OFW Family of the Year Awards (MOFYA).

Remittances up 17% to $12.3 B as of Sept

Overseas remittances continued to surpass the US$1 billion level in September despite the global financial crisis.
Filipinos working abroad sent $12.3 billion in remittances from January to September this year, higher by 17.1 % than in the same period in 2007, latest figures from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) show. In September alone, remittances grew by 16.9% to $1.3 billion. Read more
